From the Front Porch: Sneak #3

Hi Friends!

It's Sunday and that means it's just one more day until the Complete Reveal of the NEW Nature's Charm Front Porch Kit! I'm super excited for you to see not only the Kit but the fabulous Inspiration Gallery filled with unique projects that have been designed by our very talented FP Designers!

I want to take just a moment and ThaNk everyone who sent in submissions to be a member of the Front Porch Design Team. It has been so incredibly difficult for me to narrow down the choices and make final decisions. I will be announcing the NEW Front Porch Design Team for 2012 later this week after all have been informed.

I'm also looking forward to revealing the new Little Blue House Website...This is where you will find the Inspiration Gallery, Kit Contents Info, Make Online Purchases, and find all kinds of Creative Information regarding the LBH and our Front Porch Kits. You will now be able to find everything under one "blue" roof ...so to speak. In the near future, we will be offering other Kits and Products online...so keep watching as we continue to make some additions over the next few weeks. I have also made a couple other changes that might interest you.

After compiling last year's feedback from our Front Porch customers, I decided to take action on a few issues. First, for those of you who have bought the FP kit in the past, it included a Project CD. I am now including a Printed Guide in the Kit which we call BluePrints instead of the CD. Second change, the old Inspiration Gallery was shown as a slide show...not any more. It is now a static gallery and segmented by type of project. It will make it much easier for you to see the projects and find the type of inspiration you are looking for quickly.

So enough of the chit chat... You came to see another Nature's Charm Sneak Peek right?!?!

Good Morning!

Can you believe it's already March?!? Spring is quickly approaching and very soon the flowers will be in full bloom, all of the grass will be green again, the trees will fill with leaves, and we will be celebrating Easter before you know it!

I hope you will make plans to join us as we Celebrate Life and the renewal that Spring brings at our upcoming Open House!

I only got one glue gun blister in the process...trust me, that's good for me :)

CHA Adventure: Flashback to Day #5

Happy Day to All! I'm backing up in time for today's post...I wanted to share with you some of our highlights of Day #5 at CHA...It was another whirlwind day. Here are a few pic's of us outside the showroom floor waiting for the doors to OpeN, OpeN, OpeN!

We were all having a little too much fun...so anxious to get inside!!!

For me a good part of this day was spent running through booths with some of my awesome Rep's and dashing to appointments....trying to soak up everything I could see in between!!!....and boy oh boy....was there a lot to soak up! Wonderful new products and amazing sample projects at every turn!

Here a few pic's of some of the gorgeous new glass glitters and fragments coming out by Stampendous...

Elaine kept running her fingers through all the jars of Mica Flakes on their display...

They have a new goodie called Color Fragments...can't wait for them to come in so we can show you! They will be great addition to some of our Spring Projects!

And we all fell in love with this unique display piece they had in their booth...

One of the many, many highlights on our CHA Adventure was visiting the Heidi Swapp booth! I for one, am so excited that she is returning to the "scrappy" side of crafting! Here are a few peeks inside her booth...

While I was busy ordering EvEryThiNg in Heidi's new Lines...(I had very little self-control here)...the LBH gals enjoyed a Make & Take project with Heidi...

You will love her NEW Memory Files....and oh SO SO SO much MORE!!! Welcome back Heidi!!!

Christy Tomlinson, (LOVE her work) has now come out with her own line of products...Here is a look at one of her sample projects and pictures of her new line...

She has beautiful papers, embellishments, and a new line of stamps! We're gonna have some ArTsy FUN with these when they arrive at the LBH!!!!

Any Fabric Junkies out there?!?!?! Well, I am a self-confessed fabric junkie and I'm so happy to announce that the Little Blue House will be bringing in some beautiful bundles of fabulous fabric from my good friends at ADORNit! Allison helped us make some awesome selections and even better she and her Mom will be here for GASC and want to stop by and teach a Specialty Workshop at the LBH!!! I'll post more info about is as the time drawers closer.

Amidst the dashing about from appt. to appt. we took a little time out for a quick photo shoot at the I Love to Create Booth...What fun!!!! We chose the signs that we thought fit us the best...

What a bunch of silly girls...we have the BEST team ever!!!!

Here's another crafty treat from Seven Gypsies...it's their NEW ticket holder...

Bazzill Paper released Margie's NEW line....it's so pretty...

Bazzill is also now producing 24x12 sheets of cardstock....That's a whopper of a sheet!!!

So many incredible layouts....everywhere we turned!!!!

I want to share a few more with you...this is us with our wonderful hostess Mrs. Rogers. I want to personally thank her again for her generosity and all the kindness she showed us during our stay!

Okay gals, I know you are anxiously awaiting our next post of our CHA Adventure here in CA....but I'm super-pressed for time...so I will have to work on that post when I return to TX ....Now if you are wondering why I'm pressed for time....it's because I'm trying to PAcK ALL the LoOt!!!!!!!

What a TON of GOODIES right???!!!????

I only brought two suitcases one packed inside of another....but that ain't gonna cut it ladies....I will have to wear every article of clothing I brought with me and even at that, there's NO WAY I could get everything in those bags...

But never fear my friends, Mrs. Rogers came to the rescue and is loaning us more suitcases!

She is an absolute ANgeL!!!!!!
Kristyn and I managed to get everything packed....

We are flying home with 5 SUITCASES, and 4 (very stuffed) CARRY ON BAGS....that's not including any of the other LBH Gals luggage...

Now we have the great feat of getting all of it in the rental van and have room for 6 bodies too!!!

CHA Adventure: Day #4

(It's still evening here...but I figure most of you won't read this

till your sippin' on that first cup of coffee)

Okay gals, I have to warn you...I'm typing up this post in a late night stupor...I'm having a wonderful time here at CHA but I am on major CrAfTy SenSoRy OVERLOAD!!!! My goal was to walk the entire show floor today...I made it slightly to half...So I've got to pick up the pace tomorrow and git'er done!!!!

I have taken SO SO SO SO SO many photos today...317 to be exact!! I was desperately trying to get a slide show up for ya...but evidently the stars aren't quite lined up... and it's taking way too long. I promise to create one as soon as I return home to share ALL of our photos...

In the meantime...here are just a few to satisfy you for now...

this one I'm certain is going to get a very high squeal factor from some of you...Tracy w/ Helmar has created a prototype for a glue bottle holder....by storing them upside down, it will eliminate the "burping up" syndrome that our glue bottles sometimes have! I'm super excited about it...I told her to leave them unfinished cuz then we can all paint them up and alter them in our own unique style! It even has a drip tray that easily slides out...She did GooD huh?!?!

Can anyone say Ice Ice Baby?!?!?? You are gonna love the NEW colors of ICE Stickles...Ranger has taken some of the Stickles best sellers and super-sized the glitzy yum into ICE Stickles! I love the chunky glitter and the bigger bottle!

Also introducing something NEW...(sorry for the camera glare)

It's Dylusions Mists...

These mists are so striking...drop dead color!!! and they are a NEW featured product along with some fabulous stencils from Ranger's NEW artist Dyann...

She is super-talented and has a very unique style (along with a delightful accent...I love listening to her as she did her demos today). Here's a quick look at one of her sample projects...

and here is a look at the display for the Distress Ink Markers....you can purchase them individually or if you just have to have them ALL right away...like me :)

You can purchase the entire set...it is housed in a tube cylinder...great for storage! The storage cylinder will also be sold seperately for those of you that choose to acquire a couple at a time...

Jenni is such an inspiration to me and I love how personable she is! She is even going to give us the "hook Up" on some great display pieces and some other surprises (not going to tell you just yet :O) for the Little Blue House! Thanks Jenni...You are the BEST!!

We have seem some really over the top Trees here at the show...Take a look at this one...It may be hard to tell but it is covered in clusters of paper butterflies and beautiful crystals, keys, and other "junque"-y sweetness...

Here's a little more scrappy joy for you...

Here's a project that simply BLEW me AWAY!!! It features the NEW Abroad line from Studio Calico...I thought was so clever.... the states are die cut pieces that are packaged as an embellishment to the paper line...so no fussy cutting!

Susan enjoyed visiting with Kristen Robinson...the author of Tales of Adornment. She actually wore a necklace today that she won on Kristen's blog....

We loved meeting up with Paige Evans and Amy Tan today! Amy was kind enough to donate an autographed sketch book that we will be giving away to one lucky commenter!

CHA Creative Adventure: Day #3

Good Morning my friends!!!!
Miss Tracy here and I have to say this morning is one of those "If they could only see me now" kinda moments...I'm seriously MulTi-TaSkiNg right now...I'm at the desk in what Mrs. Rogers calls the bonus room...(I'll explain more about Mrs. Rogers and her lovely home in just a bit). It's about 7:30am here in beautiful Mission Viejo and as I said I'm planted at the desk, writing this post, with a make-up mirror to the left of me, along with my straightner, charging my camera battery, and I'm frantically typing and uploading pictures to this post in between applying my make up, texting the kiddos at home, running the straightner thru my hair...and I all the suddened kinda stopped and looked at myself and thought...Wouldn't my LBH family get a kick out of all this chaos?!?!?! So I decided to grab my camera and take a quick pic...

Today I crown myself the Queen of Multi-Tasking!!!

Enough of the "silly"ness....Let me tell you about CHA Day #3!
It was a hugely productive day for us! We attended three specific seminars...with some amazing dynamic speakers! I always fret a bit about signing up for seminars (cuz you never know if it's gonna be a monotone speaker and turn into a snooze fest)...but these seminars were FaBulOus!!! Loved all of the speakers and they had such great, USEFUL, information to share with us that we can easily put into ACTION into our everyday runnings of the HoUse and our personal DeSigN promotion.

One of the seminars was all about Video Presentations! We're very excited about embarking on some fun filming adventures!!! Can anyone say...LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION!!!!!!!

I owe it all to Theresa...she inspired to post my first TwEeT yesterday! I have no idea really what I'm doing but ...hey, I'm tweeting!!! I'll learn as I go...I hope you will connect with me as I prepare to TwEet from the showroom floor today!

After all the seminars we were starving!!! I was totally craving some major carbs, so we went to Cheescake Factory where I indulged in a HUGE portion of Pasta!!! I'm still full this morning...hah!
After that it was back to Mrs. Roger's neighborhood for a quick change of clothes and then we spent the rest of the night having what I will call....the LBH Planning Party!!!! So let me tell you a bit about where we are staying...Mrs. Rogers (who is Hilary's mother) has been kind enough to open her home to us during our stay here in CA. It is a lovely home and trust me....If I could play the them song to Mr. Rogers...it would be completely appropriate! It truly is a "Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood" here in Mission Viejo! Here are a few pic's of our 5 star hotel...

Oh yes...the hot tub...it's been fabulous for soaking our tired footsies...

We are so thankful to her for taking us in and she has been taking such good care of us....She was feeling a little Camera-Shy today but I will snag a picture of her before we leave! She is just a doll...

Okay well, I've got to wrap it up girls and get my rolly bag all packed up for the Opening Day of the SHOW!!! My plan is to scope out and walk the entire floor today...not sure it can be done...but I'm gonna try my best! I promise to take tons of Pictures for YOU!!!! May try to do a little amatuer video-ing too :)

CHA Adventure: Day #2

Hello All!!!

If you are wondering what we did today....well, I'll tell you....It was Vendor Presentation day and I kid you not, starting at promptly 8am and ending at promptly 6pm, we were the audience to a specific vendor each given a 10 minute or 20 minute window to tell us all about their new lines, products, etc. Almost every vendor gave each store some samples and crafty goodies to take home! Take a look at all this LooT..... It took all 5 of us to get the bags out to the car...Not quite sure how it will all get home...(I see a call to fedex possibly happening...not sure I can manage to shlep all this thru the airport...lol!)

This is just a small fraction of what I have!!! So please keep those comments coming!! I have loads to give away!!! After, the vendor presentations, we had about 20 minutes to wolf down a hamburger that Hilary & Rhonda were kind enough to go get for us...and then it was Off to Craft Mania!!! Which is a private vendor fair for Crafters Home members. It was a blast...and we were able to see some great demos (up close & personal)....and ask lots of questions....create make & takes....and of course, place lots of orders...The vendors love it when you do that!!!

Here's a peek at some of the items that were featured at Craft Mania...

This little mat may not look like much to get excited about...but, you just wait...I can't wait to show you how this baby is gonna transform your embossing! ...and great news...It works in the Cuttlebug and the Big Shot too! No more shims ... totally rocks!!

Another item we got to see up close and personal was the Eclipse machine and demonstrations of how the Tim Holtz Stamp2Cut cartridges work. You will be blown away by the detail and I was amazed by how fast and precise the machine cuts!! I just rec'd an Eclips at the HoUsE right before we left for CHA...can't wait to get home and play with it! I'll make sure and schedule a Demo Day for you to come and see it in action when I return...

I was also quite thrilled to see Eileen Hull once again...It had been a long time...She is a fabulous designer and here is a look at one of her new dies for Sizzix...we each were given a slice! What a yummy crafty dessert!!!

and it's always fun when I bump into Karen Burniston...she is the talented gal who designs all of the Pop Up dies for Sizzix...Her newest release is called Pop-n-Cuts! They are incredible...you will love the ease and the detail of these dies!

As much fun as all the demo's were...looking at all the designer projects was pretty darn fun too! So much inspiration...everywhere you turned! This is just a small selection of the photos we took...and believe me...they don't do the projects justice at all. I wish you could have been there to see them in person with us!

Oh and if you are wondering who this crazy lady is...she is my good friend Tracy Weinzapfel from Helmar! She is a big fan of the Little Blue House! Just love her...she's a hoot!

Ken is playing tug a war with me to prove how strong these babies are when they are bound...trust me, that paper ain't coming out of there...LOL!!!

Here is some Scrappy Fun....I just love this layout! It features a brand new paper collection called the Bright Side by Lawn Fawn! I fell in love with a few of their stamps too!!

Something else I'm thrilled about?!?! The new Jenni Bowlin Fiskars Punches...What a great partnership!! You will love how these punches coordinate with Jenni's wonderful products!

Jenni has also produced miniature cigar boxes...look how adorable this one is ...

I think so!!!! It's featuring NEW glitter dot papers from Doodlebug Designs...

And last but not least....(trust me I took many more pic's than this)...I have to show you one of Susan's favorites...She loves how they took the Create-a-Card and used it as a baby announcement...I know you may find it hard to believe, but she keeps gravitating to ALL the BABY stuff...wonder why that could be?!?!?!?

CHA Adventure: Day #1

Hello LBH Friends & Family!!!

We are finally all together (that is all 6 of us) here in sunny, CA! Susan and I arrived early to attend the "Tim"ster's All Day Education Workshop which of course was ..."Oh SO InSpiRiNg!!!" We can't wait to share some of the wonderful techniques and Ah HaH moments that we experienced!!!

Here is a look at the convention center where we will be spending the majority of our stay here...

Surrounded by palm trees...it is quite a beautiful place to be!

While Susan and I were having all the ArTsY FuN with Tim....

our dear friends were fighting with flight cancellations, stuck behind CaTs going thru airport securtiy...(I'm not even kidding...actual CaTs...humungous, XXLG CaTs)...I'll let Rhonda tell you about that later :) and let's see what else...oh yay, screaming toddler on the plane, space hoggers, but from what I'm told there was an occasional trip to the bar and some extremely gorgeous Italian guys that kept Elaine distracted from all the downside to non-rev travel....LOL!!!

Here's a special note that we texted to them during the workshop...

We were certain it would make them feel all better....

Now back to the ArTsY Fun...Here's a picture of what we arrived to find at our space for the "Tim"ster Workshop...Best part about these goodies?????? We got to keep them ALL!!!!!! Thanks Tim and Ranger for being so generous!!!!

We had so much fun creating and experimenting with NEW techniques...some of which you will be so surprised by?!?!?! I wish you all could have been there...He is such a great educator!!!

Well, the gals are hollering at me to hurry up....we have to leave soon! Today is all about Vendor Presentations for those of us who are members of Crafter's Home! ...and a Private Vendor Fair tonight called Craft Mania...I promise to post more about it later...

The LBH takes on Tim's Tags...

We have been so inspired by Tim Holtz 12 Days of Christmas Tags this year that we have decided "Take them On" ourselves!

We will be holding our Mixed Media Tag workshops weekly and create three tags a week. There will be a specific "what to bring" list posted for each workshop depending on the techniques used on those specific tags. We will post it weekly on the LBH blog.

The Tag Workshops will be held on the following dates

and the cost is $25 per session.

Crafty Kiddo's Workshop!

Hello Everyone!

Do you have a Crafty Kiddo in your house?!?!

Bring them by the Little Blue House this Monday 12/19 and they will have the opportunity to create a wonderful GiFt...perfect to give to Mom & Dad, Grandma & Grandpa or just to have as a keepsake for themselves! This workshop will be for kiddos between the

This month we're going to Eat, DrinK, & Be Merry....and do a little crafting too!! We will also have a Stasher's Gift Exchange for all who want to participate. This is optional...if you bring a gift then you get a gift! Please keep the value at $5 or less.

Please bring a recipe for a Holiday Treat...could be cookies, candies, sweets of any kind. Write or print the recipe on a 4x6 piece of cardstock or index card. Make copies for 24 people.
Bring enough of your treat for 24 people and
we will exchange recipes and fill our pails with them
...and eat a few too!!
Everyone will leave with a recipe and sample of each treat!!
I will provide some yummy holiday punch
for us to enjoy with our treats.

CHRISTMAS CANVAS

Our project this month will be a technique-laden holiday-themed canvas. We will be learning new techniques as well as revisiting old ones. Be prepared to get messy and inky!

Supply List

usual basic supplies, including scissors

heat gun

10" X 10" canvas

Glossy Accents (or similar dimensional medium)

dimensional foam dots

inks - Versamark, Distress Inks (red, green and medium brown), white, Staz On white

embossing powder - white and clear

Mini Mister or small spray bottle

Perfect Pearls powder - pearl or gold

stamps - all-over floral or flourish background and script

gloves if you don't want your hands multi-colored (we will be getting inky and messy!)

Little Somethings Workshop!

Need that Little "Something" for a friend, co-worker, teacher, neighbor, etc. Then hop aboard and join us for Little Somethings Workshops!

We will create 10...that's right 10 "little somethings" that would make great gifts, party favors, stocking stuffers, and so much more!! All you need to bring is a pair of scissors and a smile :)
Everything else will be provided for you!
